Guy Standing: "Its corruption, our precariousness!"

Guy Standing is professor of developmental studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. With a PhD in economics from the University of Cambridge and a member of the Academy of Social Sciences, he has taught at the University of Bath and in the Monash, Melbourne. Between 1999 and 2006 he was director of the socio-economic security programme of the International Labour Organization, in Geneva.

Professor Standing is a founding member and co-founder of Well (Basic Income Earth Network), an international NGO promoting
The application of a universal basic income. In 2014 he was appointed honorary doctorate by the European College of Economics and Management of Bulgaria and joined the International Advisory Board of the Center for International Affaires and World Cultures at Northeastern University, Boston. Its publications include Work after Globalization: Building Occupational Citizenship (2009); The Precariado: Una Nueva clase Social (Pasado & Presente, 2013) and Precariado: A Letter of Derechos ( Capitán Swing , 2014). The Corrupción del Capitalismo is his second book published by Pasado & Presente.
